The best, weirdest and most notable of 2007

Posted by Andrew Butcher on December 18th, 2007

It’s that time of the year. To make lists. Lots of lists. So here’s another one.

Strangest event this year: stopping at a pedestrian crossing to let Santa cross.

Best blog this year: once again, Paul Windsor demonstrates why he is the foremost evangelical thinker in New Zealand at www.carey.ac.nz/pauls_blog

Best book this year: Confessing God, by Scotland-based theologian John Webster, who I heard in Dunedin earlier in the year.

Worst service this year: Harvey Norman in Porirua. They’ve never heard of good customer service.

The list continues… Watch this space…. And add your own.

Posted by Andrew Butcher on December 4th, 2007

New Zealand is so small that I happen to know each and every person who has said they will review my latest book ‘Walking the Emmaus Journey’. But there is one review I didn’t know about until I came upon it. Yes, it’s by a very good friend of mine, but no I didn’t send him a cheque to write nice things about my book or anything like that. You can read what he said here.

This Guide for Consumers of Theology really has to be read to be believed and even then there’s a small part of me that doesn’t believe it.
