There are particular problems pertinent to re-entry, but I wish to start with one that I have neither spoken nor written on previously and that is the events of September 11, 2001. As with much commentary on that day, what I say now is presupposition. It obviously was not a feature of my interviews in March and April this year, but I would like to make some suggestions as to the effects of the events of that day on re-entry in particular and international student mobility in general.
